If you haven’t noticed the new Manga shelving unit…it’s bare. That’s because as fast as Mrs. Stanton could catalog the books in our new Graphic Novel collection they flew out of here! It seems these books are a popular addition to the library. We are interested in knowing what other manga series you suggest. We just may be able to pick up a few titles on our spring trip to Powell’s bookstore…but, in the NEAR future, we also have to talk about how Readers Club wants to raise money to fund the bus transport into Portland.

The shelves were built last June by Mr. Walt Kennedy, while he was subbing for Mr. Tufts in the woodshop. We will be creating a thank you card for Mr. Kennedy at our next meeting on Nov. 19. Think of some manga you could draw to contribute to the card. The shelving material was purchased using a portion of our $1,000 prize from Altrusa International of Clark County’s 2009 Library Services Award.
