I read the book in about three hours, which made it feel short to the last book I read. Overall, the plotline is good, and the characters felt real. From what I could tell, the details of what things looked like where a little small, leaving much to the imagination, which is good if one has a creative mind, but not so good if one does not. I didn't really have a chance to ask any questions that the main character did...(I'm terrible with remembering names)...which made the mystery part of the book hanging, and the cliffhanger was sort of sudden, but resembles 90% the scene of the last book I read (The Lies of Loch Lamora) where the main character wanders the street, and due to some magic, gets disoriented in the large city he lives in (vs. just visiting) and ends up fainting to wake up in a helpless position against the main antagonist. It seems that great minds would think alike in this case.
